Neglected my blog for a long time so now I'm up to the bit where you have to cram everything in.

Hanna Barbera

Another style that I wanted to look into was stuff done by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera.
So some reference pictures to look at here:

Roadrunner Cartoon Backgrounds

Another point mentioned was the style of backgrounds were similar to those used in the roadrunner cartoons. So posting some more reference images.

50's Barkcloth

Just some quick referance images:

Background stuff

Working on the backgrounds for my level...
First off I started with a sky like background:

Coming from that I created a Forest style background:
After speaking to Sonia about it she mentioned the image comes off as very stylised and similar to the Eames style cartoons and 50's style Barkcloth.
Need to research this.

The second style of background was a farm style background which I'm still working on at the moment:
Trying to create a muddy field effect.

showing the 1st WIP of my sheep... oh and sticking up my ATTEMPT of a cow in flash... I need to work on it...

Small plan review...

So yeah after my big loss of maya work and a terrible time over the holidays I've pretty much had to look over the time I have left vs what I could do in that time... I've decided to pretty much give up on the 3d at the moment since I've been having nothing but bad luck with it and do my characters in flash, I've been drawing the sheep first and seeing how that goes and chat to my tutor about it at some point too...
Been feeling nothing but tired these last few months and it's affecting my work...

Really rough sketches of Farmer Joe... not that happy with it but sticking it up anyway.

Just uploading a quick background sketch for the game. I plan do add the ground the character would walk on and other objects like rocks and stuff of a seperate layer.

Cow Concepts

After the fiasco with losing my sheep that I made in maya that I was working on for the last 2 weeks I've been trying to get motavated again. So I did some concept work of cows...
I think I might use this and try again with maya.... I don't really want to make the sheep from scratch again.

More Sheepy

Just plonking it up there.

Drawings: Continuing the sheep

Still trying to get a design I like for it

I like how the huge eyebrows bring more expression and it just looks dull without it...

Drawings: Rough sheep character sketches.

Rough Sketches of the main sheep character. I don't like this one at all however... I want to rework it, especially if I'm to animate it in Flash. Perhaps I should draw them out in flash too...

Possible name ideas:
Hank Lamb (shank)
Marton Sheep (Mutton)

Research: Sheep
